2010 Winter Olympics

Last night I sat down to watch the 2010 winter Olympics, excited to see Canada's opening ceremony, remembering Beijing 2008 summer Olympics, whose opening ceremony was breath taking. However, to my surprise, the opening ceremony was postponed due to a luger's tragic death during his practice run, on the morning of his race. The television announcer warned the audiences at home, that the video and graphics shown would include disturbing images. Then on national television the luger's tragic death was shown via video recorded earlier, that showed his body being catapulted out of his luge and hitting steel reinforcement beams, being killed instantly. Pictures were shown of emergency medical team's performing CPR or the lifeless bloody body. The video was far beyond disturbing, and is offensive. After watching the clip, and seeing the images, would you agree that it is offensive? Keep in mind how his family might feel having their son's death being displayed over and over again on national television as well as circulating the Internet. Do you think this was right for the Olympics to put on national television?

What's a blog?

So it's my first time blogging. Never been 100% open to the idea of blogging, but not 100% closed minded to the idea. I guess having a blog could potentially be a way to meet people, or it could expose a lot about you. My reason as to making a blog is that I will receive extra credit for my English class, and it is a good way to be updated on class assignments and talk with classmates, via my blog or my teachers blog.
